Vintage Television Shows, Personalities to be Saluted Next Month at Paley Center in Beverly Hills
By Greg Braxton
A salute to “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” “My Three Sons,” “Room 222″ and entertainment reporter Rona Barrett will highlight the Paley Center for Media’s inaugural salute to classic television, “PaleyFest Rewind,” at the Beverly Hills center next month.
The festival will kick off June 15 with the 45th anniversary celebration of “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” which debuted in 1965 and was shown annually for the next 10 years. The show’s star, Lesley Ann Warren, and other cast members are scheduled to attend.
A tribute to the high school comedy-drama “Room 222,” will be held June 16, featuring Denise Nicholas, Karen Valentine and other cast members.
Barrett will host the world premiere of her one-woman show, “Rona Barrett: Nothing But the Truth,” on June 17. The performance will spotlight Barrett’s interviews with Cher, Bette Davis, Carol Burnett, John Wayne and others.
The festival also will feature cast reunions of ”My Three Sons” on June 19 and “Leave It to Beaver” on June 21.
Vintage shows such as “The Mothers-In-Law,” “That’s Life” and “Truman Capote’s ‘Laura’ ” also will be screened.
Tickets for the festival will be available at paleycenter.org starting May 20.
